Concerned about wet meadow water and invasive plant control and management? Come learn about new analyses, tools and project designs to help landowners assess invasive species encroachment and implement control strategies. The format of the workshops will be brief presentations followed by group discussion, and participant evaluation of new tools. and project designs.

The Harney CWMA is sponsoring the City Wide W**d Wipe out. We are now accepting Cooperative Agreements for any commercial landowners interested in having their w**ds treated by a licensed applicator. Anyone that owns a commercial lot in or around Burns and Hines is eligible for this program.

The licensed applicator will be using a chemical that treats a large range of broad leaf and grassy w**ds and is labeled for the sites use.

What: City Wide W**dy Project
When: Mid-June
Cost: $50.00 per lot. (under 1 acre)

To participate in this project you will need to sign and return a Cooperative Agreement before June 5th, 2026. Contact the Harney Cooperative Management Area at the Harney SWCD office for more information @ 541-573-6446.

Cooperative Agreements can be obtained at the Harney Cooperative office located in the SWCD office located at 530 US-20, Hines, OR. 97738 or call to have one sent to you.

The Harney Soil & Water Conservation District and Harney Cooperative W**d Management Area are holding a silent auction for the following:
Polaris Sportsman, minimum bid $500
Arctic Cat 400, minimum bid $500

1997 Ford long bed pickup half ton, minimum bid $1000. Pickup previously owned by the U.S. Forest Service and Harney County. The odometer does not work.
The auction will end at noon on February 13, 2026. Vehicles are being sold as is and can be viewed at our office located at 530 Hwy 20 South in Hines, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, M-F. For further information, please call us at 541.573.6446.

There will be multiple different break out rooms to suit a variety of different applications types; Golf, Turf and Landscape, Nursery & Green House, Vegetation Management & Forestry. You can still qualify for early enrollment pricing if you sign up before January 7th after January 7th the registration fee will increase to $100 per person.
