A newly acquired piece to my collection by Ernie Barnes: “Preacher with Blue Book” is a 1973 oil on canvas painting by the celebrated African American artist Ernie Barnes, measuring 19 7/8 by 29 7/8 inches. Ernie Barnes (1938–2009), known for his signature neo-mannerist style featuring elongated, dynamic figures. I would like to share a new painting I acquired by an amazing artist Megan Gabrielle Harris Harris’s paintings typically feature women of color depicted as powerful, regal, and divine, often set against rich and vibrant backdrops. In All Things Held Between, Harris expands her focus slightly, allowing the landscape to take a more central role. When you lose one of your family it’s hard to find your way for a while, memories start to fly through your head like lightning striking in the sky. My brother was not perfect but to me he was a giant. Funny, kind and truly loving to everyone. Truly proud of our culture and history. A champion for health and living life to the fullest. I miss you so much big brother, thank you for all that you gave to my life. I love you.
