Each day you sit down to work, your list a million miles long and your head full of thoughts and to dos too.

You’re just about to get in the zone and dive into your tasks when…*ding* it’s a Slack or Voxer message 😩

You take a deep breath 😮‍💨 You know this is one of many you’re going to have to answer today.

It’s one of your team members, asking you for something you *wish* they could just figure out on their own or that someone else could answer for them, but for now…nope, you’re wearing all the hats.

So, you push YOUR to-do list to the side, snap out of the zone, and put on a different thinking hat to help them.

Rinse and repeat 15x day.

You suck it up though because you don’t want to be the bottleneck.

But the problem is…? You kind of already are. Because whatever work you keep putting aside to help them is getting delayed.

If you’re busy enough to have a team, you’re probably too busy to be the ONLY one that’s able to answer & support them.

It may be time to hire an OBM.

It’s no secret I am a SUCKER for a motivational quote, but they do, in fact, motivate me when I hear a good one 🤪

Something about this quote I heard in podcast episode this past weekend kind of changed my brain chemistry 🧠

The podcast episode was titled, ‘3 Questions That Determine Who You Really Are.’

And one of the questions is posed in a way to encourage listeners, or those of you reading it right now, to consider how you would approach a task or a goal with maximum effort and commitment, as if you were being handsomely rewarded for it.

It’s SUCH a powerful question, and truly does make you dig deep and unlock potential you wouldn’t have otherwise tapped into.

So how does this relate to business…?

Well, if you were being paid $1 million dollars to do the tasks in your business you’ve been avoiding doing…how would you approach them?

And because I’m an OBM, let me ask you this 👉🏻

If you were being paid $1 million dollars to organize, setup, and manage the backend of your business, how would you be doing it?

I was listening to Mel Robbins podcast while getting ready this morning and she repeated a quote that felt like cupid shot an arrow right through my systems & processing lovin’ heart 😍🏹

She quoted James Clear and said, ‘You don’t rise to the level of your GOALS, you fall to the level of your SYSTEMS.’

(Insert standing ovation GIF here)

THIS is what I’ve been preaching for the last 5+ years.

It essentially means that achieving your goals is more dependent on your daily habits and systems rather than just setting the goals themselves.

Mel Robbins was talking about this in reference to her well-known morning routine, but this can be applied to ANY area of life, and definitely in your business.

Your systems don’t need to be robust or complicated for them to be effective, you just need to have them.

In fact, the simpler your systems are the easier they are to follow and the more likely you are to use them.

And I always say, the best system to have is the one you’re going to use.

But don’t just take it from me, swipe 👉🏻 to see what my client had to say about the photo organizing system we created for her business (keeping track or photos are important for the work she does for her clients).

Because we had a system in place she took a goal of hers for this week and an otherwise daunting task and was able to get it done because we had a ✨system✨ for it.

I call these the ✨foundations✨ of your business.

Follow along with me for a minute ➡️

Getting to decorate a house, pick out paint colors, choose the area rugs, decide on curtains…those are all fun things about owning a home, right?

But they won’t mean s**t if the foundation of your home is not solid.

If it cannot stand up against the weather and other elements, right?

Without a solid foundation, the house will eventually…well, crumble 😖

Much like your business.

It’s fun to create graphics, freebies, launches, have a pretty website, and all of the other *fun* parts of our business, but if your systems and processes (the foundation of your business) are not in place…

Guess what?

All of those things won’t mean s**t either. Because eventually, the more load you add into your business & onto your plate your business will eventually…well, crumble.

You want an influx of clients? Great! How are you onboarding them? By piecing it together with Stripe, Gmail, and DocuSign?

How are you managing your workload and tasks? By writing s**t down on a piece of paper or keeping it in your head? How’s your brain feeling at the end of the day?

(By the way, you’re too scared to bring on a team member even though you desperately need the relief because the inner workings of your business are locked inside your brain)

You see how and why having systems and processes are so important for your business? You see how they truly are the foundation of business that you can build upon so you can sustainably scale without it…crumbling?
