♻️ Sustainability in action. 🛏️

We're proud to partner with on their campus-wide mattress replacement project, helping divert an estimated 30 tons of waste from landfills while improving the student living experience. During Phase 1 alone, 1,100 mattresses were recycled—nearly 13 tons of material given a second life instead of ending up in a landfill.

Projects like this demonstrate what's possible when sustainability, collaboration, and student well-being come together. From residence life staff and student volunteers to facilities teams and campus leadership, this effort was truly a campus-wide commitment to environmental responsibility.

At LRP Recycling, discarded mattresses are broken down into recyclable materials such as steel, foam, wood, textiles, and other components that can be repurposed into new products, helping organizations achieve their sustainability goals while reducing landfill waste.

A huge thank you to the Housing and Residence Life team, volunteers, and everyone involved in making this project a success. We look forward to supporting the next phase of this initiative.

Join LRP Recycling and the Avery PTO on **Saturday, June 13th** for a Recycling Day that helps both the environment 🌎 and the Avery school community ❤️.

Drop off your difficult-to-recycle items between **11:00 AM – 2:00 PM** at **Avery Elementary School in Dedham**, and a portion of the proceeds will go directly back to the Avery PTO to support students and teachers.
