It's here!!! I had the honor be selected as the Contributing Editor to interview and write the feature article on CEO of Derks Inc. and Editor-In-Chief of Bridal Fantasy magazine, Gay Derk. Gay is the mastermind behind Canada's largest and multi-million dollar bridal empire. She also owns Derks Formal Wear and Derks Uniforms, supplying uniforms for all of Canada's police and firemen. Yep, she is a badass businesswoman. In 2018, she hired my company, Edge Of A Dream, to refresh, elevate, and add the new technology of pocket planning to her bridal and love anthropologie brand. She flew my team to Canada, and our work began. The partnership was so successful that when it was time to plan and execute the brand's 40th anniversary, she secured our services once again. So here it is. Congratulations to Gay and her team. Here's to the next 40!!!!

Today I am thinking of phenomenal friend Maya Angelou on what is her 96th Birthday. I absolutely loved hanging out with her and her incredible dinner parties. She adored Luther. When I tell you this woman impacted my life, that would be an understatement. Her encouraging words spoken like a true Queen Mother are etched in my heart forever. My heart is full of gratitude for all the warrior kings and queens I've been blessed to call friends because of my work as a producer/director. How blessed am I to be able to say, Dr. Maya Angelou taught me the gem of how to "believe who people are when they show you the first time." She rode in my jeep after a wonderful lunch at Hal's telling me great stories that made me laugh so hard, I practically peed on myself. And then she said "Miss Hunt, let's go shopping," and that we did!!! So much fun. Here we are at an evening celebrating her that I produced as an executive board member of Women In Film (WIF). She also brought her friends Nic Ashford and Valerie Simpson along to perform. During rehearsal i jumped up and began to sing along with them. In her very distinctive voice, Dr. Angelou said, "Miss Hunt, I reccomend that you stick to producing."😄😄🥰

It's taken me a minute to gather my feelings about the loss of my friend, the incomparable zLouis Gosset Jr. We shared the same lawyer (Leroy Bobbitt). When I sold my first docu-series, Our Health Matters to Discovery, Mr. Gossett graciously agreed to narrate and host one of the docs, Asthma Fighting To Breathe. He actually had asthma and wanted to share his own personal experience of being asthmatic. Not only did he do an extraordinary job, his participation elevated the series because he was the Academy Award winning Louis Gossett Jr. And he was happy to do any and all press to elevate the series and me. When the week arrived for us to shoot, there was a problem with the location we had booked, so we ended up shooting all his wrap-arounds in my then townhouse living room. He used my bedroom as his dressing room, drove himself, and was beyond gracious. After we wrapped, he actually hung out and shared stories of his phenomenal career. We became fast friends and kept in touch.. Whenever our paths crossed in the years following, I always got a big hug and kiss. There is so much I could say about my wonderful friend who always encouraged and applauded my projects just by showing up for me. A Class Act and a great man whom I adored. Hollywood has lost a legendary talent, and many of us have lost a friend😪💔
