Some patterns are built long before the loom begins to move.

CHAPAN from draws inspiration from 17th-century Uzbek ikat traditions and is crafted in Kerala, India, through a meticulous multi-stage process. Before weaving begins, the warp threads are screen-printed in 12 separate stages, allowing the pattern and its nuanced color to emerge directly within the structure of the cloth.

The result carries the character of both technique and tradition — richly patterned, deeply considered, and unmistakably made by hand.

Donaba Sisal from layers varying embroidery stitches over natural sisal, creating a shifting balance of density, openness, and texture. Inspired by the shapes, stitches, and print traditions of African textiles, the design uses vertical bands to build a strong graphic rhythm across the wall.

The design begins with a 14th-century textile from Gujarat, India, reinterpreting its block-printed character through the exuberant botanical language associated with Josef Frank and the Arts and Crafts tradition.
