🚨MOVE OVER - SLOW DOWN - PROTECT THOSE WHO PROTECT YOU 🚨
A Dutchess County Sheriff’s patrol vehicle was recently struck while parked at an accident scene with its emergency lights on. Thankfully, no one was injured.
This is a reminder of New York’s “Move Over Law” when approaching emergency vehicles with lights activated, drivers must slow down and, when safe, move over.
Failing to do so puts first responders and others at serious risk. Even a moment of inattention can have devastating consequences.
Sheriff Kirk Imperati urges motorists:
“Slow down, stay alert, and move over whenever possible, it could save a life.”
