🚒 WHEN THE CALL COMES… YOU SHOW UP WITH WHAT YOU’RE ON! 🚜😂

Around Holt, our firefighters don’t always have time to run home and change vehicles. When the community needs help, you come as you are… and sometimes that means rolling up on a TRACTOR! 😂

Our volunteers may be at work, mowing grass, working around the farm, or spending time with family when the pager drops. They stop what they’re doing and GO.

No fancy ride required.
No excuses.
Just neighbors helping neighbors. ❤️

If you see a tractor parked at the fire station, just know somebody heard the call and said “I’m coming!” 🚜🔥🚒

That’s volunteer fire service. That’s Holt. That’s community. ❤️‍🔥

🥵🔥 HOLT… IT’S ANOTHER HOT ONE! 🔥🥵

A Heat Advisory is in effect TODAY from 11 AM–8 PM with heat index values reaching 108–111°F.

Holt Fire District wants everyone to take this heat seriously. In temperatures like these, heat exhaustion and heat stroke can happen quickly.

💧 Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate — don’t wait until you’re thirsty.
☀️ Limit strenuous outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day.
🏠 Take frequent breaks in the shade or A/C.
👵 Check on elderly family members and neighbors.
🐶 Keep pets cool with plenty of fresh water and shade.
🚗 NEVER leave a child, elderly person, or pet in a vehicle — not even for a few minutes.

And please remember — our firefighters and first responders are working in 50+ pounds of gear when the tones drop. If you see crews working today, slow down, give them room, and keep them in your thoughts.

Stay cool. Stay hydrated. Look out for each other, Holt! ❤️🚒

🔥 STRUCTURE FIRE | HOLT FIRE DISTRICT 🔥

Today, Holt Fire District responded to a structure fire while crews battled a 105° heat index on top of the already intense heat from the fire.

These conditions take a serious toll on firefighters, and today was a true example of departments working together to get the job done safely. 🚒🔥

A huge thank you to our mutual-aid partners who responded and worked alongside us:

🚒 Crestview Fire Department
🚒 Baker Fire District
🚒 Harold Fire Department
🚑 Okaloosa County EMS
🚔 Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office

When the heat is brutal and the call is tough, teamwork matters. We are incredibly thankful for the men and women who showed up, geared up, and went to work.

105° heat index. Full turnout gear. Structure fire. No excuses. Just neighbors helping neighbors. 💪🔥

Stay safe and stay hydrated, Okaloosa County!

🔥🚒 OUTSTANDING WORK, CRESTVIEW FIRE DEPARTMENT 🚒🔥

Holt Fire District would like to give a huge KUDOS to Crestview Fire Department’s C Shift for the incredible work performed during this morning’s residential structure fire.

Crews entered a heavily involved home under zero visibility and extreme heat, located an unconscious victim and successfully removed them from the structure so EMS could continue lifesaving care.

That is what training, teamwork and courage look like when seconds matter.

We work alongside Crestview Fire Department often and we are proud to call these men and women our neighbors and partners in the fire service.

🚒📚 BACK TO SCHOOL, OKALOOSA COUNTY! 📚🚒

School is back in session Tuesday! That means our roads will once again be filled with school buses, young drivers, parents and kids heading to and from school.

Holt Fire District wants to remind everyone:

🚌 STOP for school buses when the lights are flashing and the stop arm is out.
🚸 Slow down and pay extra attention in school zones.
📵 Put the phone down and keep your eyes on the road.
⏰ Give yourself a few extra minutes — that school traffic isn’t going anywhere!
❤️ Watch for children at bus stops and crossing roadways.

Those few extra minutes behind a school bus are nothing compared to the lifetime of a child riding inside it.

From all of us at Holt Fire District, we wish our students, teachers, staff and parents a safe and GREAT 2026–2027 school year! ❤️🚒📚

Slow down. Pay attention. Keep our kids safe.

🚒 VOLUNTEER means more than just a title. ❤️

When the tones drop, our volunteers drop what they’re doing.

Sometimes that means leaving dinner on the table. Sometimes it means walking away from family time, putting chores on hold… and sometimes it means bring the boat and head to the station instead of the water. 😂🎣

There’s no clock to punch and no “convenient” time for an emergency. Our volunteers give up their time because when our community calls, we answer.

So the next time you see those red lights headed down Highway 90, remember there’s a good chance someone just stopped whatever they had planned to come help a neighbor.

That’s volunteer fire service. That’s dedication. That’s Holt. 🚒🔥

And yes… the fish will have to wait. 🎣😂

🚒 ANOTHER BUSY SATURDAY IN HOLT! 🚁

It’s been another busy Saturday for the crew at Holt Fire District! Today even LifeFlight joined in on the action. 🚁🚑

A big THANK YOU to the LifeFlight crew for the lift today and Okaloosa Emergency Medical Services - EMS for always being there when our patients need that next level of care.

Great teamwork all the way around. Different uniforms. Different agencies. One mission — taking care of our community. ❤️🚒

Stay safe, Holt! We’re here when you need us. 💪🔥

🚒 Community Education: Why Did the Fire Truck Turn Around? 🚑

Have you ever seen a fire truck or ambulance responding with lights and sirens, only to suddenly turn them off and head back the other way?

Most of the time, this means emergency crews have been canceled before arriving on scene.

This can happen for several reasons:
• Another responding unit determined additional help wasn’t needed.
• The situation was resolved before crews arrived.
• The original information was updated and the response was changed.
• The call was determined not to be an emergency.

When this happens, our crews follow dispatch instructions and return to service so we’re available for the next emergency.

If you see us turn around, please don’t assume something is wrong or that we “just changed our minds.” It’s simply part of how emergency response works to ensure resources are used where they’re needed most.

Thank you for your continued support of the Holt Fire Department and for always giving emergency vehicles plenty of room when we’re responding. ❤️🚒
