𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝘄𝗵𝘆 -- 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆 (𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵'𝘴 𝘷𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘥 𝘵𝘰𝘰).

I think a lot of us start here -- 'I need extra income' - because that's the easiest thing to say out loud. But when I got honest with myself, the money was never the real story.🥰

Full time job. Family. Kids. Responsibilities. And somehow, you're supposed to find time to build something on the side too?

Today we're talking about the questions many working moms have before starting an online business.

>> Do I need to quit my job?
>> How much time do I really need?
>> What if I already feel like I have no time?
>> Is building a business basically another full-time job?

We're sharing what this actually looks like for us -- while still working, taking care of our families, and living normal busy lives.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜'𝗺 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗼𝗿

When I started building something online, yes, extra income was part of the reason.
ㅤ

-- but it's about so much more than money.
ㅤ

1. 𝙈𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙨𝙖𝙮 𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙢𝙮 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚.
I don't want every part of my life to depend on whether I can get the day off, change my schedule, or make everything fit around work.
ㅤ

2. 𝙈𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙢𝙮 𝙛𝙖𝙢𝙞𝙡𝙮.
Not just being home after work -- but having the time and energy to actually enjoy being with them.
ㅤ

3. 𝙈𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙤𝙥𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨.
I love being a Nurse. I just don't want working more hours or picking up extra shifts to be my only answer whenever we want or need something more.
ㅤ

4. 𝙎𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩'𝙨 𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙚, 𝙩𝙤𝙤.
Something I can keep building in the pockets of time I have -- and hopefully turn into more choices for our family later.
ㅤ

Money matters, of course.
ㅤ

But for me, the bigger goal has always been this:
ㅤ

𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲. 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀. 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸.✨

I actually didn't start an online business because I wanted to leave my nursing career. I started because I realized... I didn't want nursing to be my only option.

Mom, why do you work so much?🤔

That question stopped me.
ㅤ

Not because I didn't have an answer, but because I realized what they were really asking: Does what you're doing matter?
ㅤ

And yeah it does.
ㅤ

Not because of money or success.
ㅤ

It matters because they're watching me choose something.
ㅤ

They're learning that grown-ups can want more for their family.
ㅤ

Can build toward it even when tired.
ㅤ

Can show up messy and imperfect and still keep going.🥰
