An organized lifestyle doesn’t mean an immaculate home, or a perfectly organized pantry, or a curated capsule wardrobe. I mean, don’t get me wrong, those are nice and all.
An organized lifestyle simply means that you have systems in place to help you reset and refocus.
Yes, hiring a professional organizer expedites the process, provides accountability, and can do a lot of the heavy lifting for you.
No, hiring a professional organizer will not magically change your habits. And your habits are what will ultimately allow you to maintain and live an organized lifestyle.
The truth is, if you want to get and stay organized, it takes commitment and consistency. But that doesn’t mean it has to be drastic or dramatic.
If you’re struggling with maintaining the systems in your home or keeping the clutter under control, pick just ONE ROUTINE that you want to turn into a habit and practice it until it becomes second nature. Then, move on to another habit.
Here are some routines that you can build into habits:
SHRED JUNK MAIL IMMEDIATELY
💡Tip: Place a shredder near where you would typically open your mail
KEEP REUSABLE BAGS IN YOUR CAR
💡Tip: After unpacking groceries, put the bags right by your front/garage door so that you can’t forget them on your way out
SAY “NO, THANK YOU” to event freebies and branded swag, unless you truly love it!
