You HAVE to make sure you try shave ice when you visit Hawaii. And yes, here in Hawaii we call it shave ice not "shaved ice," and there are so many flavors and toppings to choose from.

Each shave ice shop has their unique take on this refreshing dessert, but here are some of our staff favorites:
🍧Matsumoto Shave Ice, Haleiwa
🍧Asato's Waikiki
🍧Ululani's, Waikiki or Kapahulu
🍧Chillest Shave Ice, Kaimuki

Bonus if you get a ""Snow cap"" (sweetened condensed milk) and add a little Li Hing Powder to give it some tart.
