Thanks to the unwavering leadership of Representative Nicole Lowen and Senator Mike Gabbard, tomorrow, Hawaii becomes the first state in the nation to prohibit the intentional killing or capture of sharks, including shark hunting charters, commercial or recreational catch and release and capture for the home aquarium pet trade. Mahalo nui loa and please help spread the word!

Hunting/fishing for sharks for sport, consumption, use as bait, or for aquariums, is prohibited in Hawaii as of January 1, 2022.

Mark your calendars to join us on Dec 4th! Climate Action Planning Forum Sat., December 4, 10am to 11:30am
Due to the enthusiastic response to the online event "Hawaii Environmental Change Agents" on Sept. 18, a follow-up free online event is scheduled on Dec. 4 from 10:00 to 11:30 am.
Please register at: bit.ly/climatepolicy2022

"Climate Action Planning Forum" will be similar in format to the previous event, but the focus will be narrowed to concentrate on bills that address climate change.

The same three legislators will present their priorities, and the participating environmental organizations will present their top priorities. All participants, including the public, will be invited to join breakout rooms that will be organized by theme. Bills will be discussed, and the idea is to get a head start on the 2022 legislative session.
