Mariah was born in Maui and raised in California with a certain compassion for people and a natural flair for art. At UC Santa Cruz, while achieving her BA in Psychology, she simultaneously played with color and form in her studio art classes. It was later in Hawaii, however, where an unexpected twist of fate fused Mariah’s two seemingly dissimilar passions into one. This was during her service as a Youth Counselor in an emergency shelter for underprivileged teens. In the shelter, Mariah found herself whisking hours away with the down-hearted girls, using makeup to recreate looks from the girls’ fashion magazines. The confident smiles that sprouted with each brushstroke gave Mariah a new sense of purpose. She realized then, that she wanted to utilize her artistic skill to benefit others in this way. Mariah began her professional training at Bella Torre Academy, where she was awarded her Make-up Designory (MUD) Certification. Later she continued further training in Los Angeles for on-set Hairstyling at MUD. Her unmatched sanitation protocol stems from not only her MUD Certification but also from her Tattoo License she acquired in 2017. Whether playing in the ocean with her dog or finding peace of mind in a yin yoga session, Mariah finds beauty & joy in all things that be.
