This week we attended the screening of “The 100th - Seeds of Aloha,” a film created and produced by our friend and Leadership Works graduate, Steve Sue.

This wonderful and heartfelt documentary tells the story of the 100th Infantry Battalion, a WWII unit made up predominantly of Americans of Japanese Ancestry from Hawaiʻi, otherwise known as “The Purple Heart Battalion”.

We remember Glennʻs father, who was a part of this renowned battalion, as well as his comrades who served our country with the utmost dedication. Mahalo for your service and mahalo to Steve for this tribute.

Mahalo to Allan Ikawa, Glenn’s longtime friend and classmate, and to Lindsay Chambers, Glenn’s daughter, for sharing a glimpse into Glenn’s many accomplishments over the decades. This special video, created by the Hilo High School Foundation, was presented in honor of Glenn as he received his Distinguished Alumni Award.

Over more than 40 years through Leadership Works, Glenn has touched and inspired thousands of leaders across industries, islands, and generations. We are deeply grateful to be part of the lasting legacy he continues to build within our community.

We are delighted to share that Glenn was one of three distinguished alumni honored by the Hilo High School Foundation last month. Anyone who knows Glenn knows how deeply proud he is to call Hilo home. The values, lessons, and sense of community he gained there continue to shape his teachings, leadership, and interactions with others every day.
