Hawaiʻi Community Benefit Consultants (HCBC) is a network of independent consultants working to advance the greater good in Hawaiʻi through partnership with nonprofits, public sector agencies, and social entrepreneurs. We serve as a resource to the community in two ways:

• We accelerate the work of community benefit organizations. We bring expertise and “fresh eyes” to our clients and help them i

dentify and implement strategies to forward their mission and work.

• We are a hub for local socially-minded consultants. Our network provides opportunities to meet fellow consultants, develop collaborations, and learn about local “people resources,” all of whom share an interest in serving Hawaiʻi’s greater good. You can find out more about HCBC at our website, www.hawaiicbc.net. Is your organization looking for a consultant? Check out our “Seeking a Consultant?” page for tips and considerations. If a consultant might be right for your needs, take a look at our Directory of Consultants to learn more about who we are, what we do, and our specialty areas. Are you a consultant serving community benefit organizations? Hau’oli Lā Kūʻokoʻa! For those not familiar with this holiday, Lā Kūʻokoʻa was established in 1843 to commemorate Hawaiʻi’s sovereignty. There is much to celebrate, and also much to be done to strengthen communities in and beyond the islands.

With the holiday season – and end of year giving habits – upon us, we wanted to dedicate this post to elevating the important work being done by our local nonprofits. While Hawaii Community Benefit Consultants does not endorse or promote specific organizations, HCBC members personally support nonprofits, as individuals. This blog post highlights a selection of Hawai’i nonprofits that inspire our members. In addition to individual support, we wanted to offer them a virtual cheeehooooo.

As we engage with nonprofit organizations through our giving, work, and community partnerships, we must keep in mind the value systems we claim to embrace, and make sure those values are upheld in nonprofit dynamics. Mahalo for joining us in showing respect, today and every day, for those who are on the frontlines of service and whose work keeps Hawaiian culture alive in the islands. Keep it pono!
