🚛♻️ One Load In, One Empty Ride Back! ♻️🚛

At Emerald Systems, we’re hauling tons of quality recyclables into Portland every week — literally! 💪 Today’s load is just one example of how we’re keeping materials moving through the circular economy.

Swipe ➡️ to see our truck completely empty on the return trip to the Gorge. That’s where you come in.

We’re working to build out our LTL (less-than-truckload) freight service so we don’t drive back empty! The goal:
✅ Reduce waste
✅ Support local businesses
✅ Keep materials in the Gorge
✅ Make sustainability more efficient for everyone

We’re still getting our logistics… well, down to a science (pun 100% intended 😄). But this is one of our newest services, and we’re excited to keep it rolling.

1️⃣ Logistics Backhaul Services: currently our 26ft box trucks return empty from Portland to the Gorge. If your business or organization needs consistent or one off deliveries from Portland, let’s fill those trucks and support our local community together!

2️⃣ Full-Service Clean/Clear-outs: We offer comprehensive cleanouts for office, commercial, manufacturing, and industrial settings. Our team deconstructs, clears, and prepares spaces for their next chapter using environmentally safe solutions. We prioritize sustainability, ensuring items are repurposed, donated, or recycled efficiently.

Last Weekend Insitu/Boeing hired Emerald Systems to help with the Bingen Community Clean Up. As you can see Omar was our official ES representative for the event…

We collected over 10,000 lbs. of material to be recycled

• Printers, Faxes, Scanners and Copiers
• Keyboards, Mice and Miscellaneous small electronics
• Televisions
• Monitors
• Computer Towers/Laptops
• Cable, Cords and Wires
• DVD, CD Players etc...
• Cell Phones
• Batteries
• Polystyrene Foam (12 cubic yards)

We take all our ecycle to a company that is "R2 2013, ISO14001 and ISO 45001 certified. These certifications ensure that we are tracking material from the time we receive it to its final destination, whether that be refurbishment and reuse or recovery of precious metals"

Buying from bulk is a great way to reduce packaging. You can buy as much or as little as you like.

We have buckets and buckets and buckets full of all the bulk household and body care products you could ever possibly want and/or need. We have pre-made goods but also individual ingredients for you to make your own products at home to save $$ and packaging. What’s your favorite product to make at home? Care to share a recipe for your community? Recipe of the week coming soon and we’d love to feature your share!

This was our first warehouse in Tygh Valley(October 2017). It was 10,000 sq. ft. We filled it up in no time. In the beginning we could not afford our own truck so we had to rent a U-haul..

Five years ago on 4/20/2017 we started this journey. This is our first Facebook post and in the next month we will be telling our story (its a bit of an adventure) of how we got here, where we intend to go and what it is we actually do.

None of this would be possible without these guys in the picture including Omar 🐕. This is in front of our second warehouse we had in Cascade Locks. We are no longer there but we have fond memories.
