Well, my friend Mark Timothy Thomas, has been locked out of his home and 400 acres of forestland located in the North Maine Woods now for 315 days, with no end in sight. He was banned FOR LIFE for doing NOTHING. His Maine Criminal History Report is clean, save for two misdemeanors 7 years ago. He has not had a wildlife violation in the past 35 years. Mr. Bill Greaves, Executive Director of Maine North Woods, Inc., banned Mark FOR LIFE because a Game Warden got mad when a judge dismissed a trespass charge against him. Mr. Thomas had been given a key to the gate, had been given verbal permission to enter, and had been forwarded an email permiting him to enter the property. The Game Warden cited him anyway, and the judge promptly dismissed the case. I have investigated over 300 cases during my 50-year career, and I am a meticulous investigator. I have worked on this case virtually every day for the past 4 months. What I have uncovered is clear evidence that some hunters had been targeted by Game Wardens for "enhanced scrutiny." They are notified by the Gate Employees when they enter the North Maine Woods, and they are surveilled, probably electronically (hidden cameras, airplanes, and drones) and their every move is tracked. It is possible that they are placing air tags on their vehicles. The Wardens have discriminated and harrassed them continuously. They have repeatedly cited them for violations which they clearly did not commit, based on the Wardens own investigations. I wondered why were they concentrating on certain individuals, and the pattern of harrassment is clear. Then I started receiving calls, emails, and texts from other hunters that have been unfairly targeted, and from comments from my last post. All the hunters had one thing in common, they were small nonindustrial private forest landowners (NIPFL's). It appears that the North Woods Association LLC, Maine Warden Service, Timber Management Companies (Wagner, Huber, American Forest Management Corp., etc.), and large investment land owners (Like the Buck Family), are colluding in order to force small NIPFL's to sell their land at discounted prices. The term "Cesspool of Corruption" has been used over and over to describe their activities. Peter Buck's net worth was reported to be $1.7 Billion dollars, and his heirs now own 1.32 million acres, mostly in the Maine North Woods. They are listed as the 7th largest landowner in America. They recently sold Subway Resturant chain for over $9 billion. Are they so greedy that they need to steal Mark's land? Have they told their land management group to consolidate their holdings by any means? Are these allegations true? Is the Warden Service corrupt or is only a handfull of Game Wardens in the North Maine Woods who are engaging in this behavior? If you are a NIPFL in the North Maine Woods and feel that you have been treated unfairly or if you are a hunter that has been harrassed by Maine Game Wardens please send me a PM or text, or call me. We have proven that they have broken numerous Maine State laws, and if these allegations are true, then Federal anti-discrimination laws may also have been broken. Mr. Thomas has asked for a 24-hour stay so he can travel to his home and land without being arrested, handcuffed, and jailed, in order to perform annual maintenance on his home, which they have denied. His financial loss from Mr. Greave's actions are approaching $250,000. We have sent in documents that prove that the Game Warden was lying and withholding exculpatory information, and relaying false acusations against Mark. WAGM and WABI have now picked up the story, and we are fielding calls from National press sources now, as well as other interested National entities. The time to settle this matter amicably is now short. If someone on the Board of the North Woods Association LLC could take 10 minutes out of their busy schedules to give me or Mark a call, we still have time to settle this. You have violated Mark's constitutional rights, private property rights, and human rights. I will continue to investigate this matter every day until a satisfactory outcome is reached, and Mark can again travel to his land with his 2 teenage boys as he and his Dad have done for the past 50 years. Have a good day.
