2:20PM⛈️ Cumberland County, here we go y’all always telling me the storms go around you! It’s not today; showers and thunderstorms are moving in with gusty to damaging winds, and heavy rainfall is likely.

Locations impacted include... Fayetteville, Fort Bragg, Antioch, Pope AAF, Hope Mills, Spring Lake, Eastover, Wade, Linden, and Vander.

This includes Interstate 95 between Mile Markers 58 and 41.

A Heat Advisory is in effect from 11 AM to 8 PM today for the southern and eastern Piedmont, Sandhills and Coastal Plain. If you have to work outside, take frequent rest breaks in the shade or air conditioning. Take action if you see symptoms of heat exhaustion or heat stroke!

After a hot afternoon, there is a Level 1 (Marginal) Risk for severe storms today in Central NC. Strong to damaging wind gusts are possible between 4PM & 10PM from clusters of thunderstorms in the Piedmont & northern Coastal Plain. Have a way to get warnings!

⛈️ Isolated to scattered showers/storms remain in the forecast through the work week. Some may bring strong winds and localized flooding.

🥵 Risk for dangerous heat increases Tuesday through Friday as heat builds into the area. Remain aware for signs of heat-illnesses.
