Hope House

Hope House It is always darkest right before dawn. Never lose hope. Q: What is generational trauma? Watch for partner resources also. Your story deserves to be told. Believe.

Mission: Resolve Generational Trauma

Hope House works in collaboration with community, local, state, and other partners with similar goals: To resolve generational trauma through individual advocacy, education and empowerment. A: Generational trauma is trauma that isn’t just experienced by one person but extends from one generation to the next. Examples can include:

Substance abuse
Moral injury

Domestic violence
Child/Elder abuse
Financial control
Racism
Poverty
Narcissism

Our video library will continue to grow as we do. Sharing individual experiences can be incredibly powerful, and often life-changing. Overcoming and not duplicating traumatic incidents or behaviors in future generations is not an easy task. Your past does not define you. A healthier future awaits. You deserve it. Hope House safely respects everyone's journey point on the map. Taking part in this adventure with us has a higher purpose. Hope House

Yesterday was National Day of the Deployed, so naturally, I spent the day gathering all the best goodies for a care package to send to my daughter’s best friend, Camila. She’s off on her first Navy adventure and living her best life! When I mentioned the significance of the day, though, she had no idea.

With less than 1% of Americans serving in the military, we’ve got a whole new generation stepping up—our kids and their friends! Meanwhile, 5.5% of the population is dedicated to caring for veterans. So, here I am, both proud and excited, cheering from the sidelines and packing all the essentials for the next generation of heroes.

Because supporting them? That’s an adventure of its own!

You woke up this morning, and surprise - you're still you. There was no magic switch that flipped when the sun came up, no glittering, glamorous witchcraft that turned you into something else.

You woke up and you were still you, and you took a tired breath and looked around. Your bedroom is still the same, your heart is still the same, and your hurts still feel the same. You're still stuck.

You woke up and you were still you, but you've forgotten that you're pretty great.

You've forgotten that you've **been** working on you all along. You've forgotten that you've been cultivating and plowing and growing and watering yourself for years now.

You've forgotten that all you need to do is get up. You have forgotten that you are sitting in the driver's seat, that you only get this one precious life, and that you don't need anyone else's permission -

to shine.
to chase.
to wonder.

All you need to do is get up, and all you need to do is stand on those two feet, and all you need to do is take a step forward.

Put your hand over your chest and feel the

thump
thump
thump

and remember: you are here for a reason.

You are here for a REASON.

So get up. And keep getting up.

Every single day.

Stop hitting snooze. Stop fighting your whispers. Stop do***ng on yourself. Stop listening to the haters, the small thinkers, and the road blockers.

And get up.

You've got some work to do.

xoxo, B.

Hi friends, Matty here! 🌟 April’s a big deal for us because it's the Month of the Military Child. That’s right, a whole month dedicated to celebrating kids like me, whose parents have served or are serving in the military. It’s pretty cool to have a month where our stories get to take the front seat.

And guess what? We’re wrapping up this special month with something amazing – a “Bunnies & Buddies” Day at Rock Island Farm! It’s going to be a blast with animals, games, and lots of fun. But the best part? It’s a chance for all of us, the kids of veterans from Buckingham County Public Schools, to come together, make new friends, and share our experiences.

I’ll be posting all month about life as a military kid – the ups, the downs, and everything in between. And I really hope to hear from you too! If you’re a military kid from Buckingham County, let’s connect. This month is for us. 🎈

Please consider a donation to Operation Frontline Families to honor one of its board members, Bryan Moore. Bryan left this world far too soon, and his family asks for donations in lieu of flowers.

We pray for Shawn Moore, their girls, and their extended families, asking for strength and peace during this time of transition.

Love is pouring out from all ends of the Earth, my dear friends.

The mission of Operation Frontline Families is to provide caregivers of our nation's veterans and first responders with hopefulness, a sense of togetherness, and a firm foundation of resiliency. With your help, we can make a difference.
