A belated Happy Birthday to Dave Anderson of Anderson Seed in Odell, Nebraska! The video and photo are from his 80th birthday celebration.

Dave is a great musician and still truly enjoys performing. The best part of the video might be him playing the drums while his drumsticks are on fire!

Thank you, Dave, for being a Phillips Seed dealer. We appreciated the opportunity to be part of your celebration.

Also, 53 years in the seed business says a lot about the way Dave does business and the relationships he has built over the years. Congratulations on an incredible milestone!

Today we had the opportunity to help host the Saline County wheat plot tour by providing lunch for everyone who attended. We enjoyed being part of this event and appreciated the strong turnout, especially considering the challenges this year’s wheat crop has faced due to limited moisture. It was also a great opportunity to present our own variety, PS1985.

A big thank you to KanEquip for allowing us to move lunch into their facility due to the weather.

We’ve got our corn plot in the ground! 🌽

11 hybrids planted just north of our office along Highway 15. Stop by anytime this season to check it out—we’ll have the hybrids labeled along the road.

We’ll also be touring the plot at our Open House later this summer.
Soybeans are up next later this week… now if we can just get some rain. 🌧️

An irrigated field of AP Prolific just east of Lindsborg, KS along Highway 4 is looking strong.

While irrigation is helping this field thrive, many of our dryland wheat acres could sure use a good rain right now.

Keep an eye out for our signed wheat fields as you head south from Assaria toward Lindsborg—most signs include the variety name so you can easily see what’s planted.

If you spot a variety you’re interested in or have any questions, feel free to contact our Assaria office at (785) 914-5018.

Corn test plots are going in across South Central Kansas this week!

Our crew has been busy treating plot seed and getting everything ready to roll—we wouldn’t mind keeping them that way!

If you’re interested in putting in a test plot for corn, soybean, grain sorghum, or forages, we’d love to work with you. Reach out to your Phillips Seed representative or contact our office at (785) 949-2204.

The more we test, the more we learn—helping us identify the varieties that perform best in your area.

We want to congratulate this young man on his upcoming graduation from Hope High School!

Duncan Reiff has been a valued member of the Phillips Seed Farms team since 2023, working full-time during the summers and part-time throughout the school year.

We appreciate his hard work and dedication, and we wish him all the best as he continues to pursue a Fire Science degree and EMT certification at Salina Area Technical School.
