Highland Volunteer Fire Department We are a 100% volunteer, donation funded fire department. We proudly serve several hundred families that live in our fire protection district.

At Highland Volunteer Fire Department, we strive to be the best department possible. We proudly serve several hundred members in our fire protection district 365 day a year, 24/7. We are also constantly trying to improve ourselves, and equipment, through constant training, maintenance, and equipment upgrades. What we do is simple, fight fires, anything from a fully engulfed structure fire, to a sm

all burning patch of grass. We also respond to vehicle accidents, trees down across the road, and other various emergencies. We are staffed by dedicated volunteers, which are certified firefighters by the Kentucky State Fire Commission. If you are interested in becoming a firefighter, stop by on our meeting date, the second Tuesday of each month!

On behalf of Highland Volunteer Fire Department and all of our dedicated Highland Volunteer Firefighters, we would like to extend our deepest and most sincere gratitude to Atmos Energy for your incredibly generous donation.

This donation was made possible in part because of one of our very own volunteer firefighters, TJ Shephard, who is also an employee of Atmos Energy. We are incredibly grateful for TJ’s dedication—not only to serving our community as a firefighter, but also for helping connect Highland Volunteer Fire Department with an organization that truly supports the communities it serves.

Your generosity means so much to our department and to the community we proudly serve. As volunteer firefighters, we give our time and effort because we care deeply about protecting our neighbors and being there when people need us most.
