CorrTech Welcomes Corrosion Industry Expert Kurt Lawson

Kurt brings nearly 40 years of corrosion engineering experience, with extensive expertise in cathodic protection, pipeline integrity, coating performance evaluation, and AC interference mitigation.

Throughout his career, Kurt has provided technical leadership for corrosion assessment and control programs across the energy, water, and infrastructure sectors. His background includes field testing, integrity management, research, and the development of innovative corrosion monitoring technologies. He has also contributed to numerous industry studies and technical publications focused on corrosion prevention and asset reliability.

Kurt joining our team will strengthen CorrTech’s capabilities in advanced corrosion diagnostics, reinforce our commitment to high-quality engineering and field performance, and further expand the technical depth supporting our clients’ infrastructure reliability and longevity.

Ted Midura, Technical Director at CorrTech, recently had the opportunity to present to the NYU student chapter of the Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering (SAMPE). His presentation focused on the effects of corrosion on New York City’s infrastructure and covered key topics including corrosion mechanisms, prevention strategies, engineering challenges, and the application of cathodic protection.

CorrTech, Inc. is pleased to announce the pending certification of our new Corrosion Laboratory by the Connecticut Department of Public Health (CT DPH) — and the appointment of Lisa M. Small, our new Connecticut State Certified Laboratory Director.

With this certification, our lab will be qualified to participate in more advanced environmental testing projects, particularly those involving non-potable water, wastewater, and soil analysis, where state and federal compliance is critical.

The CT DPH Environmental Laboratory Certification Program (ELCP) enforces some of the most rigorous quality and regulatory standards in the nation, ensuring lab results meet U.S. EPA and Connecticut state guidelines.

This milestone reflects our ongoing commitment to precision, compliance, and environmental stewardship.
