Stop Sorting Mistakes Before They Start

In fast-paced pack lines, small mix-ups turn into big costs. Misgraded cases. Re-labeling. Lost time.

But what if sorting could be instant?

💡 Color-coded rubber bands make it simple:
They help teams instantly separate grades, sizes, and field lots—right at the source.

No guessing. No backtracking. Just clean, organized flow from field to box. Smarter sorting doesn’t slow you down—it speeds everything up.

Alliance Rubber Company Honors the Life and Leadership of Former President Bonnie Spencer Swayze
As the daughter of founder William H. Spencer, Bonnie devoted 52 years of service to the family business — working in the plant, administration, sales, marketing, and ultimately serving as President for 15 years. On January 1, 2024, she transitioned from President to an outside sales role in Southern California, allowing her to spend more time with her family.

Bonnie joined the company full-time in the fall of 1971, after working afternoons and Saturdays since sixth grade. She became President in 2008 and led Alliance with vision, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to American manufacturing and women in business. Under her leadership, the company — now the last remaining rubber band manufacturer in the United States — expanded into custom silicone and specialty products.

She often described Alliance as “a family of 150 families,” reflecting her deep appreciation for the people behind the business. More than 70 percent of employees have been with the company for five years or longer, and many members of management began in entry-level roles. Bonnie championed career growth and pride in American craftsmanship. During the 2020 pandemic, Alliance rapidly produced millions of rubber strips for face shields.

As her son, Beau Andrew Swayze, shared in a message to the company: “She was not only a remarkable leader of Alliance Rubber Company, but someone who deeply loved this company and each of you who helped make it what it is. She took great pride in the work, the people, and the community that Alliance represents. More than anything, she cared about you all — not just as employees, but as part of an extended family she cherished.”

Bryan Smith, Director of Purchasing and Contracts, who joined Alliance in 1999, remembered Bonnie as “one of the most giving individuals that I’ve known in my life. She cared tremendously about all the employees and their families.” He described her as a “go-getter” who expected excellence while empowering others to succeed. “Everybody loved working with her,” he said. Bonnie was a trailblazer for women in business. She was the first female president to serve as a board member of the Wholesale Stationers Association and was actively involved with the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) and various Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) organizations. Through this work, she helped pave the way for greater female leadership in the boardroom.

As a family-owned company, Alliance Rubber has always depended on strong family leadership to guide its long-term vision and stability. Bonnie embodied these values throughout her life and career.

“Bonnie led with strength, grace, and an unwavering belief in both people and possibility,” said Michelle Spencer Hitt, President of Alliance Rubber Company. “She was not only an incredible leader, but also a great mentor whose wisdom and example shaped so many of us. Her influence will be felt at Alliance Rubber for generations to come.”

Her legacy of hard work, variety, patriotism, and compassion will continue to guide Alliance Rubber Company. The entire team extends its deepest condolences to her family and is grateful for the decades she spent helping to “hold our world together.”

In her personal life she was an accomplished song writer having scored credits on songs by artists Hank Williams Jr and Billy Currington. She is survived by her husband, Bruce Swayze; her son, Beau Swayze of Los Angeles; her grandson, Sebastian Swayze of Los Angeles; along with extended family. She was preceded in death by her son, William “Billy” Hilton Swayze.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at First Baptist Church, 2350 Central Avenue, Hot Springs, Arkansas.
