I was privileged to attend Major General (R) Hunt B. Downer's Induction Ceremony into the Louisiana National Guard Hall of Fame today. Hunt has touched many Leadership Terrebonne classes over the years. In his comments today, he emphasized teamwork and communication are necessary ingredients in successful leadership. Thank you Hunt Downer for your excellent leadership over the years and for your service to Leadership Terrebonne !

If you are organized, relationship-driven, and ready to make an impact, this is an opportunity to help shape meaningful experiences for emerging leaders across Terrebonne Parish.

• Coordinate monthly leadership sessions and logistics
• Build relationships with participants, sponsors, and community leaders

The Hodge podge of a very informative Economic Development Day spent exploring our Air and Sea Ports. So much information about key economic drivers in our region. Lots of time to laugh and cut up a bit. More photos to come!

The LTAA is happy to welcome the 2026 Class of Leadership Terrebonne. We completed our first 2 day session last week and are off to a great year! We look forward to a great year of exploring and learning about our wonderful community! Congratulations to the 32 members of the cohort!

From volunteering to talking about the issues. Community Concerns day covers all the bases. We started the day talking with Gary Williams Jr, at the Firm Foundation, a day shelter meant to provide resources for the homeless in the community. We met at the World War II Museum and had talks about affordable housing, youth services like CASA and foster homes, as well as outreach from START Corporation and Hope Extreme.

Thank you to our sponsors, Chouest and GIS for the day. Thank you to our lunch and afternoon sponsor, Rotary of Houma. A special thanks to TARC for their generous donation of purple and gold tea cookies.

LT 2025 completed their last session today with a very full agenda which included a service project at The Terrebonne Churches United Food Bank, a visit to the Firm Foundation, and sessions on the needs of youth, housing and homeless services. A great feature of the day was interacting with the Rotary Club of Houma, our sponsor for the day. Thank you for the amazing lunch and fellowship. Marilyn Macik-Frey rounded out our day with last tips on effective communication. The Regional Military Museum provided us with a fun scavenger hunt to identify key features of their displays. Thank you to Billy Joe Pellegrin and Leslie Canter of GIS and Chouest for a great breakfast to kick off the day. Next stop: The Retreat!
