Hello Everyone, I want to say how honored and bless I am that Nakia Hanson MA chose my artwork for the cover of her new book, 'The Lies They Tell or The Lies I Tell Myself: What is the Truth?'. I also wanted to say that Myrna Galan of Galan Graphix did a beautiful job designing the cover. Love it, Myrna!! ❤️❤️

Feeling so excited. Finished this custom book art for . Prismacolor pencil, acrylic and chalk pastel. I was so nervous creating art directly on the book. Kind of no take backsies. So, any mistakes I made I had to own it and create "happy accidents". 😊❤️❤️ This book is also going on my TBR list. Having read the summary of the book on Goodreads. My piece in the Literary Labyrinth exhibition with . Loved creating this piece. We were to create art using a book. I used graphite and charcoal to sketch the haunted woman directly onto the book pages. I created foliage below her as my 3 dimensional part of the artwork using pages from the book. I think the most challenging of the foliage was the mushrooms. If you notice the design of the leaves is the same as my other piece titled "Thoughts of trauma." This was intentional. They are starting to also creep up the haunted woman. I have a 3rd sketch I created with this same theme that I still need to post. But wanted to share my reasoning. 🙂

I am still so elated and honored to be a part of the show among so many talented artists. Especially finding my voice so late in life. ❤️

Yesterday I taught a class at the library. The class was mostly about expression in art. I'm sure I probably bored them the first part of it because I gave a very, very brief lesson in art history. Discussing styles and the evolution from Realism to Contemporary art. Stressing the desire of artists in expressing themselves and asking the kids to just create with freedom and multiple mediums. I think they did a beautiful job! Great work Everyone!! You did amazing! I know not all of them are finished and I can't wait to see the finished work. Bravo! 🙂🙂❤️❤️

This weekend was the art opening for 20th Anniversary Frida Art Fest. The first image is my favorite. Our son was joking around with us and we captured his laugh just at the right moment. I didn't get pics of all the art but many of them were so impressive. The event ended with an interpretive dance in the theater. you didn't magnificent event as always.
