Before you apply for another credit card, know which bureau the lender typically pulls and whether a prequalification or soft-pull option is available.

One important correction from the video.

Legitimate hard inquiries generally are not removed simply because you call a credit bureau.

If an inquiry is unauthorized or inaccurate, dispute it. If you authorized the application, the inquiry generally stays on your report.

The better strategy:

📊 Know your credit profile before applying.

🔍 Check for prequalification options first.

💳 Apply where your profile fits the lender.

🚫 Avoid unnecessary applications and hard pulls.

📈 Dispute inquiries only when there is a legitimate accuracy or authorization issue.

Before you rush to pay a collection, slow down and verify what’s being reported.

Ask questions. Review the account information. Compare the balance, dates, creditor information, and payment history against your records. If something is inaccurate, incomplete, or doesn’t belong to you, dispute it.

And remember, paying a collection does not automatically mean it disappears from your credit report.

The goal is to make informed decisions based on what’s actually reporting, not react out of fear because a collector contacted you.

The price of the car isn’t the only number you need to pay attention to.

Your financing terms matter.

Before you walk into a dealership, know what’s sitting on your credit profile.

Start with your credit card utilization. Then review your payment history, collections, charge-offs, inquiries, account age, and anything being reported inaccurately.

And don’t wait until you’re sitting across from the finance manager to find out where you stand.

Give yourself time to work on your profile before you apply.

A better credit profile doesn’t guarantee a specific interest rate or approval.

Lenders also look at income, debt, loan amount, vehicle, down payment, lending guidelines, and other factors.

Your goal should be simple.

Walk into the dealership prepared and put yourself in the strongest position possible before anyone pulls your credit.
