A public, mid-sized oilfield service company had recently merged several privately held companies and completed an initial public offering of stock. Positioned for the next phase of growth, the company executives aimed to develop a Go-To-Market Playbook to guide their commercialization activities.
This project included:
- Conducting executive interviews and gathering market data
- Performing an External Market Analysis of macroeconomic and activity trends, competitors, and customers
- Developing a Total Available Market model
- Performing an Internal Company Analysis of SWOT, capabilities, revenue, margin, and market position
- Developing a Go-To-Market Strategy and Playbook, which included target growth markets, target customers and buyer personas, a strategic account playbook, a marketing playbook, and basin strategic plans
- Implementing the sales, marketing, and operational recommendations in the GTM Playbook tactical plan
The results were significant:
- Developed a strong brand by creating high-value digital content and campaigns
- Secured multi-year, multi-basin contracts with numerous major operators
- Grew revenues by 300% from $155 million in 2017 to $620 million in 2022
- Increased adjusted EBITDA by 80% from 7% in 2017 to over 13% in 2022
- Closed several asset and company acquisitions
