This Bellaire primary closet had a lot going on. Clothes and accessories split between the closet and a dresser across the room, which sounds fine until you’re actually trying to get dressed and moving between two spots every morning.
She travels a lot for work, so getting ready fast actually matters.
You don’t have to clean up before we come. We promise we’ve seen worse.
The best part came before we even finished. A few hours in, the next day, she packed for a work trip and told us “the amount of time I saved packing for this trip, because everything makes sense now, it’s life changing.” We hadn’t even wrapped the closet yet.
That’s the whole point. Systems that hold, even mid-project.

We feel like whoever built this closet missed a few shelves, leaving these clients struggling to keep things organized in their bathroom. Stackable products to the rescue! Stackable drawers and baskets allow us to take advantage of the huge space between shelves in this closet. Caddies on the top shelf make it easy to pull down first aid, medicines and nail supplies. A little girl’s closet had everything in it except a clear path to getting dressed. Books. Blankets. Stuffed animals. A toy collection that had quietly moved in and taken over.

None of it was wrong. It was just in the wrong place.

So we found the right home for the books, the blankets, and the stuffed animals, and we gave the closet back its actual job. Now she walks in and gets completely dressed without climbing over anything. Start to finish. On her own.

That’s the whole point. A system she can use without a grown up narrating every step.

You don’t have to clean up before we come. We’ve seen every kind of closet, and we promise yours is not the worst one.

This little guy’s closet was the catch-all. Toys, clothes, the random stuff that ends up on the floor because nothing had a home. So we gave everything one.

Clear bins so he can see what’s inside. Low drawers he can actually open. Shoes at his height. The stuff he reaches for daily, right where his hands land.

Thanks to the versatility of Elfa, this closet can grow right along with him. It’s a modular system which allows for simple changes to maximize use year over year.

Garage shame is real.
But so is the relief when it’s finally handled. 🙌

This week’s Let’s Be Clear Organizing project meant:
• overflowing donation piles
• bins sorted and over 9 emptied
• multiple trash loads removed
