Join me in an evening prayer.
Heavenly Father, as we bow our knees before You this evening, we come with heavy hearts for our neighbors across central and the hill country . The waters have risen, Lord, and families have been scattered by the floods that swept through our communities.
We lift up those who are missing tonight, Father. You know each name, each face, each worried family member waiting for word. Be their shelter in this storm. Guide the first responders who work tirelessly through the night, searching and rescuing. Give them strength, wisdom, and protection as they wade through dangerous waters to bring our people home.
Lord, we thank You for the volunteers who have answered the call - those who’ve opened their homes, their hearts, and their hands to help. Bless their service and multiply their efforts. Help us all to be Your hands and feet in this time of need.
For those who have lost loved ones to these floods, wrap them in Your peace that passes understanding. Comfort the grieving and let them know that not even the deepest waters can separate us from Your love.
We pray for the hill country and all of central Texas - for homes destroyed, for livelihoods lost, for communities that must rebuild. You are the God who makes beauty from ashes and brings life from destruction. We trust in Your provision and Your plan.
Watch over us through this night, Lord. Bring the missing safely home. Strengthen the weary. Heal the brokenhearted. And help us to love our neighbors as ourselves in the days ahead.
In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
