For the Sages and the Crones among us

There are priceless pieces of wisdom that only age can provide. As I near 60, I see that this time of transition for women is one of the most potent portals we will come through. It’s where we will truly own our power.

The reason many of us seem to “lose our magic” during this time, is that we are being called to a complete reorientation and reorganization within our body , mind and spirit.

How we think about ourselves is a small part of it.

The bigger piece for those who are tuned in is that we are being called into the work of our souls. Even deeper. And the tools we used earlier in life, the chemical processes in our bodies we counted on, can no longer be relied on in the same way.

We have to truly surrender to the will of the divine. There’s no other choice.

“My will” is rendered impotent.

It is humbling.

And liberating.

We are being called to a new level of magic - that’s why we seem to lose the magic we’ve relied upon for so many years. It’s by design. The magic is completely different and even more potent when we allow it.

In midlife we are not given a choice of preferences. The divine says, “Now is the time.” We can do it the long hard way - trying to get our old magic back - which is painful and prolongs the process.

Or we can listen to the whispers of age. Surrender. Allow Divine Will to carry us. Allow ourselves to truly receive. This is where the beauty of life blossoms like never before.

It is a breathtaking ride. It is a time of honor. I honor each of us who is going through or who has traversed this sacred portal.

Becoming a CEO

Chief - the person highest in authority
Expansion - the state or quality of being expanded, (and continuing to expand)
Officer - a person appointed to a position of responsibility or authority

Having worked with CEO’s of both publicly and privately held companies in my career, I can feel the energy of a true CEO.

I’ve worked so much in the past few years with entrepreneurs who have a unique vision - they are becoming a new breed of CEO. I’ve been feeling into what is different between the old guard CEO and the blossoming CEO’s I’m working with.

There was a point in my career when I chose to no longer work in publicly held companies; there was simply too much restriction. Too many rules. Not enough true artistry. Nothing wrong with it; it’s just not for me.

In working with my clients, achieving great business results is the entry point.

The work is about becoming the person who is expanding into a much bigger vision. Who can we be for our clients, our partners, our families, and the world?

Information is not transformation

We’d all be ascended masters if it were.

Information is a necessary ingredient for for True change. But more is required.

The most profound transformation I’ve made in my life is in my relationships to men.

Information was necessary. There were many years in my life when I didn’t know the concept of feminine energy existed. When I was finally ready to change, having information about feminine energy was so important!

But to have a profoundly different experience - to be a woman who is deeply cherished by her husband and feels loved so see into her bones - more was required.

It doesn’t have to be hard. It DOES take vulnerability and commitment

I’ve been taking pictures of flowers for as long as I can remember. Lots of pictures. It’s not something I even think about. It’s just something I’m drawn to do.

Lately I’m noticing my inclinations more than ever. And I’m paying special attention to them.

Here’s why.

Most of us were taught that there’s a right way to live. That there’s a right way to work. That there’s a right way to build a business. That there’s a right way to do pretty much everything,

And in conforming to the “right way,” we lose connection to our inclinations, our internal nudges or what some might call our intuition.

When we do things someone else’s way, by nature, we are taken out of alignment with who we are. Being out of alignment creates resistance in our lives. Resistance might look like needing to try very hard to get business results, relationships that take a lot of work, or struggling with a particular situation over and over in life with no real resolution.

I’m posting this today to remind all of us that there’s an easier way.

And the easier way is often the more effective way.

If you are finding yourself pushing and striving, stop and ask yourself these questions:

What inclination am I ignoring?

What is an easier way to accomplish what I’m doing?

If I allowed this to be fun, how would this get done?

By the way, by following my inclination to take flower pictures, I realized I have about a thousand photos for my social media. They are so “on brand” for me. Without even trying.
