You may not know this, but when I was five, Mom was diagnosed with Stage IV breast cancer and given one year to live.

Nearly 40 years later, we celebrated her 78th birthday. What a testament to the goodness and faithfulness of God.

Cancer was part of her story, but it never defined her. She was too busy being Mom, showing up for every milestone and every moment that mattered.

It wasn’t until I became a mother myself that I understood the depth of love, prayer, and sacrifice woven into all of that showing up. Watching her pour that same love into my children has been one of the greatest gifts of my life.

Mom, I am so proud to be your daughter and so grateful for every year God has given us with you.

“Her children arise and call her blessed.” Proverbs 31:28

And we do. Every single day.
Happy 78th, Mom. You are so loved.

Y’all, if you texted, called, or emailed, I fully intended to answer. Then work happened. Then mom life happened. Then I opened it in the grocery store checkout line and forgot it existed.

It wasn’t personal. Or maybe it was. Lol.

Please tell me I’m not the only one treating notification bubbles like phone décor.

Skincare has to work in real life: early flights, TSA lines, packed schedules, hotel bathrooms, teenagers, and the occasional night when I’m too tired for a 10-step routine.
