As a company founded by a Hispanic woman, a daughter of immigrants, this month is very special for us here at Newleaf Consulting.

National Hispanic Heritage month, which is observed from September 15th - October 15th, celebrates and recognizes the contributions and influence of Hispanic Americans to the history, culture, and achievements of the United States. From the food we eat, to the music we listen to, Hispanic culture is all around us, adding joy and color to our every day lives.

This month, we are supporting United We Dream. United We Dream is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that aims to organize immigrant youth to advocate for immigration policy. As the largest immigrant youth-led community in the country, they are creating a welcoming spaces for young people - regardless of immigration status - to support, engage, and empower them to make their voices heard.

We encourage you to find ways to support your Hispanic community this month. Support local/small Hispanic-owned businesses, elevate Hispanic voices and creators, or contribute to an organization doing important work on behalf of the Hispanic community.

This is a big one for us. We are so excited and proud to announce that Newleaf Consulting has officially been recognized as a Salesforce.org Equality Partner.

An organization’s focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) is a never ending journey. At Newleaf Consulting, we are committed to this journey as well as the education and the work that is required to truly create and maintain a workplace that mirrors the diversity in our community.

We are a small, but mighty team, and are so proud that 100% of our team is made up of POC. 75% are women. As we continue to grow, we look forward to continuing this trend of diversity, equity, and inclusion in our workplace, not only through our hiring practices, but by giving back to organizations and nonprofits that are working towards equality and equity for marginalized populations.

At its heart, Juneteenth is a day of celebration. And while we celebrate, we also recognize that the fight is not over. Systems of discrimination and oppression are still in place, and as long as they continue to stand, we must continue to fight and advocate for the communities that these systems harm.

Today, we celebrate the journey, the struggles, and victories of the Black community in the United States. We celebrate their contributions to our culture and this country, and recognize that every part of our lives is enriched by their art, music, heritage, cuisine, and voices. Most importantly, we celebrate by giving back.

Our donation this Juneteenth goes to to the Ella Baker Center, who works to 'organize with Black, Brown, and low-income people to shift resources away from prisons and punishment, and towards opportunities that make our communities safe, healthy, and strong.'

We invite our followers and community celebrate with us by supporting Black owned businesses or contributing to organizations that are doing the important work of elevating Black voices, advocating for Black lives, and fightning for racial equity. Happy Juneteenth!

We are excited to announce that today, our dear client and valued partner, Las Chicas del Barrio, has launched their new website which Team Newleaf had the honor of creating.

The Client:
Las Chicas del Barrio is a Nonprofit organization based in Dallas, Texas with a mission to 'Inspire and equip young Latinas to pursue a path of growth and purpose; to strive towards higher education; to become financially literate; and to improve physical, mental, and emotional health.'

The Project:

The initial phase of our project focused on implementing Salesforce to empower Las Chicas to manage and execute their work with volunteers, mentors, donors, programs, services, and more. The second phase of our project focused on creating a new website to showcase the important work that this nonprofit is doing, who they are, and how visitors can become involved in their mission. Our goal was to create a fresh, clean and minimal user experience that focused on the programs and impact of the organization, while also connecting key components to Salesforce. Our full solution includes a newsletter integration, online fundraising integration, and volunteer/mentor application that ensures that all user engagement makes it's way to Salesforce. The ultimate goal of this project was to ensure that Las Chicas del Barrio were fully connected with their constituents via their web presence, both in sharing who they are and in leveraging Salesforce to execute their mission.

As a company founded by a Latina, a daughter of immigrants, the work that this amazing nonprofit is doing hits close to home here at Newleaf Consulting. We are honored to have been part of this journey with Las Chicas.

We may be a small company, but we are big believers and supporters of the ongoing pursuit of equal rights and justice for the LQBTQ community. Not just this month, but every month, we advocate for and celebrate everything that this beautiful community stands for while also understanding that there is still work to be done.
