Only 4.7 percent of America’s total household wealth is held by Black families, even though we make up 13.6 percent of the population.
That number matters — because wealth isn’t just about money. It’s about ownership, access, and the freedom to take risks. When we talk about funding Black founders, this is what we’re really up against: a system that’s built on unequal starting lines.
Knowing the numbers helps us change them. Every pitch, every product, every investor conversation is part of rewriting that story — not just for this generation of entrepreneurs, but for the next.
