MKG Art Management Art Advisory + Appraisals
Managing over $250 million in art assets for corporate and private clients

Founded in 1998 as an independent art advisory firm based in Houston, MKG Art Management offers comprehensive art services. Our staffs of educated and experienced art advisors and appraisers manage projects for clients in corporate, private, institutional, public, healthcare, and hospitality settings. At MKG, our philosophy is that collecting art is similar to creating a narrative. An art collection can say a great deal about a company, an institution or an individual identity. It our job to assist our collectors in curating their story.

Building thoughtful a collection involves a lot of moving parts. It’s created through research, careful decision-making, and attention to every detail along the way.

From understanding a client’s goals and acquiring strategically to coordinating logistics, installation, and ongoing collection care, art advisory is an ongoing process.

At MKG, we guide each stage with the long-term vision of the collection in mind.

✨ a look inside the collection ✨

For a this project, we helped our client chose Vanessa Prager’s Golden Hour (2023) as the center piece of their front room. Prager uses the impasto technique to create fantastical portraits that nod to and subvert traditional art historical themes. This client is especially draw to vibrant, fun abstract works with highly textural surfaces, so Prager’s work was a perfect addition to their collection.

A strong collection is shaped over time.

Not by chasing trends or simply acquiring more, but through thoughtful decisions about the artists you collect, how works relate to one another, where they come from, and how the collection is documented and cared for along the way.

The strongest collections have a point of view. They evolve with intention, reflect the people or organizations behind them, and are managed with the long term in mind.

Collecting well is an ongoing practice—and thoughtful guidance can make all the difference.
