My Favorite Sidekick

Most people know I spend a lot of time helping Nichole through her health challenges and disabilities. What they may not know is how much she helps me.

Just look at this picture. 😆

Even in the middle of doctor’s appointments, uncertainty, tough days, and challenges most people never see, she still finds reasons to laugh. She still finds ways to make the people around her smile.

During one of the heaviest seasons of my life, she has been my rock more times than she realizes. Her strength, humor, and heart inspire me every single day.

I may be her mom, but I learn from her constantly.

And while life hasn’t always been easy, I will forever be grateful that I get to call this amazing human mine. ❤️

🩵 Mental Health Matters 🩵

Today was a reminder that taking care of yourself isn’t selfish….it’s necessary.

Sometimes self-care looks like checking things off a to-do list.
Sometimes it looks like therapy, rest, or setting boundaries.

And sometimes it looks like sushi, a favorite drink, and giving yourself permission to simply enjoy the moment. 😊

I’ve spent so much of my life taking care of everyone else that I often forget to recharge myself.

Today, I’m reminding myself that I can’t pour from an empty cup.

So if you’re reading this, consider it your reminder too:
Take the break.
Eat the good food.
Laugh a little.
Rest when you need to.

Your mental health deserves the same care you give everyone else. ❤️

One with flexibility.

Happy National Smile Power Day 😊

Found this old picture of me and Nichole when she was 18 months old.

When we said, “SMILE!” this was her signature pose. 😂

Thirty-plus years later, that smile still has the power to melt my heart.

Life hasn’t always been easy for her, but her smile has always stayed the same.

I’m grateful for memories like these that remind me that even on the rough days, we can still find a reason to smile. 😊

And honestly, if squishing your own cheeks isn’t confidence, I don’t know what is. ❤️

What a day! ❤️🎉

When your kids are part of the team opening a new Dave & Buster’s, family and friends get invited in for practice days before the big opening!

We got to enjoy lunch, dinner, and play all the games our hearts desired. 🎮🍔

More than anything, I needed this day with my family. Life can get heavy sometimes, and today was filled with laughter, fun, and making memories together.

Feeling incredibly blessed with the people I get to call family. ❤️

Happy Monday! 💕

Today was “reunite the baby bird with its mommy” day.

Barry found a little baby bird under his car in the shop and was going to leave it there because he couldn’t get to it. 😱

I said, “Heck no!” and went on a rescue mission, but by then it had disappeared. Thankfully, Jodi finally found the little fella scared and hiding in a corner of the shop. She put him in a shoebox for the night, and by morning he was still alive!

After doing some research, I learned he was likely a fledgling, a baby bird learning to fly. I had an idea where his family might be, so I placed him in a flower box near what I thought was home.

He stayed there for about a minute and then hopped right out.

Within minutes, his mommy found him and fed him! 🥹 I wasn’t able to capture it in a picture, but it was one of the sweetest things I’ve seen in a long time.

It got me thinking…

Sometimes we lose our way. Sometimes we feel scared, alone, and unsure of where we’re supposed to go. Hopefully someone comes along to help us find our footing. But even when they don’t, there comes a moment when we have to take that leap of faith, trust our hearts, and follow the path that was meant for us.
