I have a strong feeling that businesses, b2b and b2c that keep the human connection, and illustrate true value and service towards humanity will be the next ultra-premium, regardless of the category. If we are not already, we will be craving that personal connection, independent thought, and doing work that brings us joy, failure, learning, and accomplishment.
AI is fast, information is free, and yet the value we feel as humans when using it, is deeply diminished, despite the dollars it may bring to you. Yes, I said it, scaling business and competing in today's mass consumerism arenas mandates speed, and exponential growth through the use of technology, I get it, but the value we will place on human connection will never go away. It will be like genetically engineered tomatoes. Remember those, the size of your head, everybody bought them, mass gardens supplying huge bounties of veggies, and driving down cost, and then, we wizened up, recognized the lack of nutrients, etc. and came out in droves for locally owned and grown produce purchased at an absolute premium from our farmers markets or CSAs.
We will want to know where and who grew our veggies, made our bread, butchered our meat, and how they were raised. We will yearn for handshakes, coffee's, dinners, and deep conversation. The human craft will be the premium.
We are in a new era with AI, I get it, I do, I use it daily. I am not calling the kettle black, I am just challenging myself to working harder on studying, reading, and having purposeful complex thought/conversation with my co-workers, family and friends. This will become a lost art if we do not practice it with all generations, and it will cause continued erosion of human intelligence, the accountability that goes with it, and the deep satisfaction that can be obtained by failing, being wrong and then improving. If you can find the right balance between the utilization of AI/Technology and people in your business, the market will pay a premium for it. just my 2 cents, what do you think?
