Good morning to all our followers!

We are excited to display the work of a new artist at Frontal Lobe: Diane Pearson.

After retirement, Diane had two main goals: obtaining a master gardener certification and taking art classes. While watercolors have always appealed to her for their airiness, a pastel workshop revealed their forgiving nature, making them her preferred medium. The intense colors are beautiful when creating florals, landscapes, and Michigan lake scenes. Working with pinks, purples, greens, and blues brings Diane a feeling of calm and peace, which she conveys in her art.

If you're in town enjoying these beautiful spring days, please stop by and check out Diane's beautiful artwork!

Hi everyone,

I hope you are staying warm this snowy season.

Please stop by Frontal Lobe to view the work of our current featured artist, Sharon Fisher. Her artwork is on display through our partnership with the Livingston Fine Art Association (LFAA) until the end of April.

Sharon has been drawing and painting professionally for thirty-five years. Notably, her pieces "And Time Stands Still" and "The White Milk Pitcher" were selected for permanent exhibition at the Governor's Mansion on Mackinac Island.

She has studied under master artist Natalie Hause for more than twelve years and has worked with renowned artist Bruce Core. Utilizing oils, pastels, and pencil, Sharon’s subjects range from portraits and landscapes to still lifes. Her work has been featured on the covers of canine magazines and is held in private collections across the United States, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Japan.

We hope you have a chance to stop by and see this impressive collection.

If you happen to be passing by or just out and about, please stop by Frontal Lobe where we are currently featuring artist, Mary Light's, work. The artwork will be on display through our partnership with LFAA, until the end of January.

Mary is an accomplished artist from
Howell, Michigan. She has won numerous
awards and honorable mentions for her artwork,
including artist of the year. Working in pastel, oil
and acrylic, her compositions are comprised
mainly of landscapes, seascapes, wildlife and
just about any nature subject. Mary accepts
commissions and, also, enjoys portraiture work.
She is represented by the Blue Heron Art
Gallery in Elk Rapids, Michigan and has done
many demonstrations in the pastel medium
during shows. She has had many solo exhibits
in Livingston County, murals in Trinity Health
hospitals, Cleary University, and local libraries
and restaurants. She has been drawing and
painting since childhood and attended many
workshops by well-known artists. Plein air
painting is included in her favorite environment
to paint, especially while traveling. “Always take
art supplies with you” is a favorite saying while
packing for trips locally and abroad. Mary has a
Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from
Madonna University and art has always been
the relaxing creative outlet for a stressful career
path.

Stop by out of the heat and view our current artist's art, Shirley Spears, that is here on display at Frontal Lobe through our partnership with the LFAA, through the end of September.

Shirley Spears is a mother of four, with two stepchildren and
seven grandchildren. Shirley was a registered nurse since 1964
who loved art but had little time for it. After retiring, painting
became her entertainment and soon her passion. Ms. Spears
challenges herself by trying different subjects and mediums
finding that it is in the doing that we receive our greatest
rewards.

Our featured artist is Eric Siebeneck. Eric is originally from NW Ohio, moved to Howell in July, 2023. He has degrees in Graphic Design and Visual Communication.

His first career was in website development. Initially, Eric was doing a lot of design work, earning design awards, and becoming an Adobe Certified Expert in Photoshop. By 2010 Eric started establishing his own clients/projects because the programming he was then involved with didn't allow him to express himself creatively. His childhood love of Star Wars pushed him toward a galaxy far far away. As a result Eric had art published on starwars.com, the Star Wars Insider (official magazine), Save the Lars Homestead (book), as well as a number of t-shirt designs
and collectible embroidered patch designs. Eric was hired
as the artist/designer of the 2015 documentary The
Walkers Among Us (available on Amazon Prime).

Siebeneck is a member of the Livingston Fine Art
Association, and a former member of both the Blanchard
River Art Guild (Ottawa, OH) and Findlay Art League
(Findlay, OH). In 2024 he was finalist in the Detroit Red
Wings Art Contest, and has also won awards from BRAG,
Chalk-A-Walk, CatFest (a Toledo event for victims of
domestic violence) and others.
