How do you celebrate a milestone?

Does it help to have a circle around you cheering you on?

Do you do something special just for you?

Do you buy something to remind you of this moment?

I have a big milestone on Sep 29, my 20th business anniversary, and I’d love your help celebrating.

⭐️ If we’ve worked together through the years, or you have a memory about me and my business Simply Leap, I’d love for you to share it in comments or DMs!

I wouldn’t be here without YOU.

Celebrating together makes this more real. ❤️🙏🥳

It’s a love fest with some clients and this really was.

Jillian Carter is a gifted RN and founder of MilkMatters Lactation, RN, PLLC. Business was steady, clients were happy, and she felt more was possible. Jillian B Carter

In six sessions, we dove in and figured it out.

Clarified why she loves this work, leaned into more financial security and communicated effectively to insurance companies and her customers in ways she felt was truly authentic.

One of the best parts? Our work came from a referral from their awesome sister and fellow business owner, Erin Bertholf! Play Haven NY

More about Jill’s experience:

“Each time we met, I came with a topic that I felt I’d thought through fairly thoroughly, but there were always aspects you’d point out that were surprising to me. Getting a perspective outside of my own was so incredibly valuable. Often, it took a complex issue I’d been trying to wrap my brain around and simplified it into something much clearer. Once I could see it through that lens, the next steps were obvious.”

Let’s talk transparency. Showing up as you are, still figuring it out, and how it builds strong trust with potential customers and audiences of all kinds.

The topic came up during the latest Strategy Session with my Advisory Alliance members.

Small business owners and leaders want so much to get it right, and dare I say perfect.

In reality, we trust and respect people who are themselves.

Who share that they are still figuring things out and invite us to come along to figure it out together.

That transparency is its own level of expertise and value… that we are willing to invest in, seek out and refer people to.

So if you’re holding back, try some transparency and notice who comes forward.

Disclosure: my dog was nestled up next to me during the filming and I’d put this top on over my workout clothes.

Because I wanted to share the idea without worrying about too many bells and whistles.

Hopefully it worked.

Have you done something similar?

If you were waiting for a sign, this could be it.

You’re beautiful.
You’re brave.
You’re ready.

Have you had a full circle moment?

This weekend I worked with the same coaching teacher I certified with 20 years ago.

I’ll admit I fangirled a bit being back in her orbit. Wanting to sit at her feet and soak up her wisdom.

I had forgotten how vital professional development is for coaches.

I’m a better coach when I’m a client.

I’m a better retreat leader (the next is September 22!) when I have been on retreat.

We need a chance to quiet the outside world, open ourselves up, look at assumptions from a fresh perspective.

I’m thrilled I took the time and I hope you’ll tell the difference when you work with me!

What would you ask in a room of entrepreneurial women?

That was the premise for Saturday’s Mentoring Think Tank hosted by Mentoring MUSE and HV Women in Business

Our circle included women at every stage of business ownership asking questions to help them get to the next level and sharing what has helped them navigate similar challenges through the years.

The perfect 'give and get' of in-person events like these.

Thrilled to be sitting and learning alongside you, Danielle Bionda Hughes Eva Tenuto Katherine Nicole Fleissner Sharon Rosen Painted Ladies Amanda Richline and others I hope to connect with again.

As Amy quoted in her recap: “Women supporting women is the most powerful force for change in the world.” — Ntozake Shange

I feel this deeply.

If you have questions you’re not finding the right rooms to ask them in, let me know. If I can’t help myself, I will open doors on your behalf.

Money follows compliments!

A conversation with a client recently got me thinking about this.

When you’re able to accept compliments, receive fully how appreciated you are, you’re able to accept more…including money.

It’s about knowing your value.

When you know you’re worth it, you carry yourself more powerfully. You expect more and won’t settle for less.

If that is a challenge for you, start to shift it this week.

When you’re complimented by a stranger, friend, employee, notice your initial reaction. Do you push it away? Do you think, that wasn’t that big of a deal? Do you hurry to compliment them back?

Pause while you notice and then take it in.

What happens inside of you when you simply say thank you in return?

You are worthy. Let it grow.

I feel lucky to be able to walk to meetings, especially on a beautiful night like yesterday.

Ulster County Chamber hosted their monthly mixer at Rondout Savings Bank a ten minute walk from my home.

A pleasure to see familiar faces with small business making meaningful impact and some I’ve helped through the years.

The The Peace Education Center of the Hudson Valley is opening soon. Thanks for sharing info, Bea 🌙

A new photographer connection, great to meet you, Allison Gutekunst Media | Hudson Valley Photographer (clearly I should have put you in charge of these photos!)

So proud of the steps forward you continually make with your business, Play Haven NY

Always good to have a few moments to connect, Katy, Keri and Casey with KDD Marketing, Karen, Thomas and Cheryl with Rondout Savings Bank and Donna at Ulster Habitat For Humanity

Glad to run into you and hear more about Miles of Hope Lynne Miele-Versaci

And to walk home is the softening light to dinner, a silly seventh grade sleepover and cuddles with my doggie rounded out the day perfectly.

Do you push yourself too hard?

We are in a culture that tells us to, and we are often conditioned as A-students, first-borns, entrepreneurial go-getters to, so it’s no wonder.

Sometimes we need permission from others to let off the gas.

To take a breath and notice how powerful we still are, because the power is WITHIN us.

It’s not the outside accolades or degrees, it’s not the glowing reviews or number of likes. It’s our belief in ourselves that powers us.

Which means we can be as soft as we need to.

I love being in a room with you, Danielle Bionda Hughes

Thanks for these kind words about the time we’ve spent at retreats for women in business together and in conversations about financial empowerment.

And as for taking time to breathe, you are the master of that. How many meditation days in row do you have now - 500?! Amazing.
