Hope everyone is transitioning smoothly into the new year 🙃
Letting you know we’ll be hosting an online discussion with the project manager of Square One Villages.
We’ll be looking at how a land trust can be paired with self managing co-op styled housing. The result is a potent opportunity for communities to build-out permanent affordable eco-conscious housing.
The discussion will be candid and we’d love your participation
This is the first of a few meetings we’ll have with other organizations who have successfully responded to their communities needs and inherit potential.

In response to increasing housing prices exacerbated by the pandemic. A wonderful group has formed to initiate a Community Housing Trust here in Columbia County.
Our goal is to remove land from speculative market forces ensuring long-term affordability to our citizens. Then provide eco-conscious, community oriented housing on-top of said land
If your a local realtor, politician, citizen, architect, developer,investor, landowner, non-profit org, or anyone who would like to participate in the formation of the trust. Please reach out!

Hey hey! My community here in the Hudson Valley of New York is creating a community housing land trust. It's our efforts for a new(er) story of creating beautiful affordable housing developments and beyond.
In the effort to NOT create a non-profit from the ground up, we're hoping to expand on our existing county's Land Conservancy which does already have the background of putting in deed restrictions, fundraising, land donations, etc...
Wondering if anyone here knows of Land Conservancy's which has also taken on the role of a Community Housing Land Trust? Our group would love external guidance from an organization with experience specific to this matter.

Interested in where regeneration can meet affordability? I'll be facilitating an online meeting around initiating a community housing land trust in Hudson & Columbia County.
We see community-owned land as an important way of bridging the gap between homeownership and long-term affordability (social regeneration). We'll also be exploring options of creative developments or retrofits that can be done once we collectively purchase the land.

We’re initiating a community housing land trust in Columbia County! And its going to take a community to realize this!
The legal structure of a local housing land trust will help in creating long-term affordability for our residents.
