Every one of us has a machine we'd rather not go back to.

The alarm that keeps coming back. The plant nobody in the shop has touched in years. I've had plenty of them.

I've spent days troubleshooting what turned out to be a simple issue. What I needed was somebody who'd seen it before.

That's what the portal is for. A guy posts the model, the alarm, and what he's checked so far. Other guys who've worked on that machine share what they've seen.

There are over 4,000 chiller professionals in there, contractors and OEM field guys both.

None of us figured these machines out on our own.

💡Global problems require global solutions!

There is nothing worse than getting all of the parts sourced from the RPL, getting it put together for a quote, and calling the local supplier, only to be told that its going to be over a year before you can get parts to get the chiller back online.

Now were stuck having to explain this to the end user, and searching to try and find something that will work to get them by, or spend $30k a month for a rental chiller for the next year and a half.

All of us have been in situations like this, and it puts us, and customers in a difficult position.

If one supplier in the USA doesn't have it, one in Canada, Australia, or one in Europe Probably does.

NOTE: There is legal channels your company has to comply with, this is not legal advice in any way shape of form, you Must also make sure the parts have the proper certification for the region you are installing it in, (UL, CE, EAC, Etc..).

You also MUST respect the proper chain of command with your suppliers and their agreements with each other and other OEM's. Don't order parts above anyones head unless it has been communicated to everyone. It may cost you 10X the price, but in this industry its best to make sure everyone is happy from beginning to end so you can form long-lasting relationships over your entire career.

You can always find a way or make a way depending on what the job calls for. - Rant done lol

A member reached out looking for the information for maintenance on the YT Speed drive.

I uploaded the maintenance tasking / schedule for the YT in the portal on the website.

I also uploaded the service letter for the maintenance kits for the VSDs on the Liquid Cooled VSDs (HYP, VSD, LVD, PYT) used on YK, YT, YD, YMC2, and YZ Chillers.

I've missed family events and vacations because I was stuck on a job.

If I'd had someone to call, I'd have been out of there in twenty minutes instead of five hours.

I was lucky. I had a few great mentors coming up, and they picked up the phone.

This industry is gigantic. I still learn something new every day, and a lot of it comes from guys in the portal.

There are over 4,000 chiller professionals in there now. Every guy who joins is one more person who might have seen what the next guy is stuck on.

No chiller tech should have to face a complex problem alone.
