Today we observe Juneteenth, commemorating June 19, 1865; the day the last enslaved African Americans learned of their freedom, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.
Juneteenth is a time to reflect on the long road toward freedom and equity, to celebrate Black history, culture, and resilience, and to recommit to building communities where everyone has a voice.
Wishing everyone a meaningful day of reflection and celebration.
