Some fun over the last month! It’s been a busy summer, lots of pool time, dress up time, play dough and other sensory play, trips to the park, science experiments, book, library, and story time. We also made a giant cookie pizza. The kids wanted it for lunch since it’s called a “pizza” but I convinced them to eat some sandwiches first. 😆 our summer has been getting away from us!!

Summer break has been busy for us! We’ve played outside as much as possible, pictures are getting harder to snag with so much water play but here’s a few. 😁 we’ve done lots of art projects, fort building, water balloon fights, snuggles in the grass, swimming, napping, and soaking up the sun!

Today we said goodbye to Ethan. Grandma retired and they’ll be able to spend their time together now. He’s been with me since he was 4 months old and next week he’ll turn two. We celebrated him today in every way we could think of.... We had his favorite breakfast and snacks, we decorated with balloons, we waited and saw the garbage truck pass our house, Brayden and I stayed up last night setting up an obstacle course using pools noodles and pencils (he did it over and over again) we watched one episode of Bluey, and he helped me water all the grass and gardens. Finally, he opened his gifts. He got a school bus and truck toy, a giant ball, play doh, and a bubble gun. All of my kids picked one thing out that he lives to do at our house. Each of his friends also got a goodie bag. I think the only person who will possibly miss him more than me is Emma. They’ve been inseparable since babyhood. He’ll always be a duckling to me. ❤️ 🐥 ❤️

The past couple weeks we finished up our dinosaur theme and moved on to WATER! The weather has been in our favor for this week, we got to play in water all week. We mixed water with fruit to make our own ice pops, played in the pools and water table, ran through the sprinkler, went on walks, stopped at the park, and tested out making our own water sprayers. (Ethans went farthest by a long shot) next week we finish up our water theme and we have lots of fun planned since the big kids FINISHED SCHOOL!!

This week we started our dinosaur theme! 🦕 🦖 We made fossils, did Dino footprint art, and traced dinos. We also took a couple walks and made some stops at the park. We played outside, rain and shine! 🌧 ☀️ In the morning during the rain today we had a movie day, we dumped all of our studies out to snuggle and jump in, then this afternoon we went swimming in the pool and running in the sprinkler. What a fun week!

Last week was a bit different. Unexpectedly closed early in the week due to some minor illnesses. There was lots of extra snuggles and naps! It gave me time to get our backyard in full summer mode!! So excited!! We made up for the missed days later in the week! We did lots of stories, practiced not only writing but identifying the letter of the alphabet. We played with bubbles, our improved swing set, we played in the sprinkler, planted some veggies in our gardens, and went on a couple walks a day! For art we did splatter painting, Fiona and Charlie loved it but Margo and Emma decided fingers are a much better tool. It was a bit of a crazy week but still so much fun! We love this weather!!

We rung in the warmest weekend of the year so far with our Spring Theme! We played outside as much as we could (even if there was sprinkles) we set up our new play set and the kids had a blast with it! We started the week needing jackets and warm hats and finished the week with sunscreen, tshirts, and sun hats! We did several art projects, and the older kiddos are mastering writing their names!

This week we played dress up, read many stories (Emma has started reading lots of stories to Lily), played outside as much as we could, baked some cookies (they all help dump ingredients into the bowl, Margo didn’t want help... she made some of it in the bowl 😂), picked lots of dandelions, and went on a few walks! The weather really kept us on our toes this week, some days we stayed in from rain, some days we went out with winter coats on, and one day we ran through the sprinkler. 🤷🏻‍♀️ we do what we can with the weather we have.
