Attention Long Commuters!!!

This evening we tip our cap to anyone who currently makes/made a long drive to work in order to reside, raise a family and retire in and around Huffman. Do you live local but work inside Loop 610? Office in Tomball but love our schools? Or service Brazoria County but own a home by the lake?...If so then this one's for you.
My full-time job is at a large industrial complex in Pasadena - An hour there and an hour back. Considering how many people are on 2100 with me at 4:00 am tells me I'm not alone. Often my associates at work ask me "Why?". My answer has never changed..."It's quiet and I have deer in my yard". Maybe the greatest testimony of all is that over the years my parents and mother-in-law have all moved here. At this stage in their lives they simply want to live in peace. Our community has allowed them to do just that.

We all know someone who makes/made this sacrifice. If you're like me you do it willingly. We choose the space, the quieter environment and living in a less dense area even if it means a longer commute (and more frequent fill ups).

Fact: In November 2020 a gallon of 87 Regular was $2.05. Hang in there...

Saving Grace wishes you a restful evening and a great week.

This week we extend our admiration to our fellow parents who have teen drivers in the home. An added bonus if you just handed the keys over to your child this Summer AND went the parent taught route...What an enjoyable experience.
This chapter in their lives can spread a parent very thin. This Wednesday they'll be driving themselves to school and any extra curriculars. Let us never forget the value of a deep breath. I'm still adjusting to the cost of full coverage auto insurance for my two young men. I never thought I would need Ibuprofen, Alka-Seltzer and Tums all at once and yet....

Eventually everything will become routine. Until then, together we offer daily reminders to "Keep your eye on the road", "Give yourself plenty of time" and "Watch out for the orange barrels".

Buckle up Huffman...That time of year is upon us.

Saving Grace wishes you a great week.

This morning we extend our appreciation to anyone who has rescued, adopted or fostered a pet. Regardless of the circumstances what they all have in common is it's usually a decision made with our hearts. Of course it can become very taxing...For a dog this includes trips to the vet, dog food, grooming, toys, a collar & leash, potty training and lots of patience.
Our family currently has one adoption (English Bulldog) and two rescues (Blue and Red Heeler). Welcoming them into our home has been an absolute blessing. Our bulldog has quite the personality and our heelers are evolving into excellent watchdogs. Turns out my family and I are the fortunate ones.

If you've ever opened your doors to a pet in need you are truly a force for good. Take a bow.

Saving Grace wishes you a great day.
