Back to some insurance basics.

Everyone should own some personal life insurance. This means not associated with your job. This week we worked with a 46 year old male who is now uninsurable due to medical issues.

He has a personal 20 year term with my office and we are going to exercise his conversion privilege and change his short term policy to a long term policy, with no medical questions or exams.

It this person did not have this once very affordable policy in force, he would eventually only have an option at work, which normally goes away when you leave your job.

This is for all current State Farm Customers

1. Make sure you have anyone who drives your vehicle one time or more per month listed as a driver.

2. If you have $25 per day for car rental, consider increasing to $50 per day for about $2 per month.

3. Make sure you have enough coverage to replace your home in the event of a total loss. Here is the NUGGET, for $35 per year, you can insure you have an extra 50% above your policy limit. Example, home is insured for $300,000 and for $35 per year you potentially have $450,000 to replace. Hint, the very first home I added this coverage to was my home!

4. Increase your liability coverage on cars, boats, ATV’s, etc.. to match your net worth and income.

5. If you have someone who will need your income for the next 5-20 years, increase your life insurance!

6. Number 5 for most of you is the most important immediate need if a primary income earner has an untimely death.

Largest dividend in the history of the company. Stock Companies send payments to stock holders. State farm is a mutual company! This is why you always buy home and auto insurance from a mutual company. The model is to pay claims fairly and if you have an excess profit you either lower the rate or send a dividend.

Meet our newest team member, Aaron Smith. He is a 2021 graduate of Jackson Christian School where he played football and was a Mr. Football finalist. He recently graduated from UTM with a degree in marketing. Aaron will soon be helping new customer’s with their insurance and financial needs.
