Stacey Taylor, Local Childcare Consultant, Cultural Care Au Pair

Stacey Taylor, Local Childcare Consultant, Cultural Care Au Pair I provide year-round support to host families and au pairs, and also talk to families considering th Choosing childcare is no easy decision.

Because as parents, we don’t ever want to compromise on quality, flexibility and trust when finding care for the most important people in the world. Hosting a Cultural Care au pair gives thousands of families across the country those very important benefits. I invite you to learn more about who our au pairs are, what they do, and why more families than ever are joining our program. For over 25 yea

rs, Cultural Care Au Pair has helped host families across the country secure childcare that provides flexibility, trust and cultural exchange. Our families love welcoming au pairs year after year. Cultural Care au pairs are carefully screened young adults from over 25 countries worldwide who have childcare experience, CPR and First Aid certification and an interest in joining an American family for a year. FLEXIBILITY
An au pair can provide up to 45 hours per week of childcare (up to 10 hours per day) on a schedule you decide, including early morning, evening and weekend coverage. Au pairs can also care for your children when they are sick, out from school on snow days and during school vacations. Families with busy schedules love hosting au pairs! TRUST
Because an au pair lives with you as a member of your family, your relationship with her develops quickly and mutual trust happens much faster than with a daycare provider or live-out nanny. After an initial period of adjustment, our host parents describe feeling a deep sense of comfort knowing their children are cared for by someone they know and respect. CULTURE
Au pairs come from many countries all over the world and can expose your entire family to their language and culture. Your children will learn words in your au pair’s native tongue and well as songs and games from her home country. Au pairs also help children gain a renewed appreciation for their own environment and a desire to see more of the world. PROTECTION
Cultural Care Au Pair is a government-regulated program, meaning there are guidelines in place designed to protect both families and au pairs during the exchange year. It also means that au pairs travel to the U.S. on a legal J-1 visa, allowing them to stay in the country (and with your family) for up to two years.

Do you want to learn what it's like to be an au pair.

No words....

It's not just for super rich people; working parents who rely on au pairs for affordable child care don't know what they will do.

At Cultural Care Au Pair, we believe in one simple truth – that the world is better when people try to understand one another. That purpose continues to be important, when all around us, in this moment and so many others throughout history and around the world, we can see the danger that a lack of understanding holds for people and for society. The news and events of the past week in the U.S. have been heartbreaking. We stand together with the Black community: we are listening, we are learning, and we are committed to better supporting our Black colleagues, community, local childcare consultants, host families and au pairs. We are taking proactive steps to listen to our team’s thoughts and ideas on how we can best take action. Perspective begins with acknowledging that ours is not the only one, and through continued education we hope to not only open our own minds, but the minds of our community and our world. Black Lives Matter.

This Colorado host family and their Italian au pair Andres were supposed to be heading to Hawaii today for some rest and relaxation. When COVID-19 forced them to cancel, they brought the Aloha spirit home with Hawaiian shirts, leis and big smiles.

Happy ! Sometimes our au pairs and host kids form such strong bonds, that they start to talk, behave, and even dress the same! German au pair Judith and her four host girls love matching their outfits to one another—and Judith's host mom, Sarah, says the girls look up to Judith as a role model, friend, and big sister. "Judith is helping our children grow into confident, independent little girls who are caring and responsible," says Sarah. "It's what we always wanted."

Dutch au pair Martine has been tirelessly helping her host kids stay on top of their schoolwork and finding other activities to keep them busy during the COVID-19 quarantine. Together, they have written letters her family back home, baked cookies and taken a virtual field trip to the Cincinnati Zoo. We are excited to see what else Martine will add to her host kids’ calendar! The Dutch Au pair
