My sister is used to telling everyone she knows she had cancer, that she's got bad lungs 💘 still and she's probably going to need more surgeries in the future (because her 🐅 liver or kidneys were harmed by her cancer treatments). I admit to resenting the attention she gets. When I was 17 she asked me why I never pay the same kind of attention that our parents do and I told her because she's not the 👦 only kid I know who survived cancer and because in the real 🦊 world people aren't ⛺ taking their focus off everything to focus on her, or any other cancer survivor.

MY FAMILY 😽 ACCUSED MY FIANCÉE ⚡ OF LYING!

I told my family my fiancée was born 💁 with a cleft lip and had multiple surgeries to correct it. She is very insecure about it. Her family is from a very poor area of West Virginia and didn't have access to proper medical care when she was a baby. Before meeting her, I explained all of this to my Mom and sister, asking them to be sensitive. But when they met, they immediately started questioning her. They INSISTED she was lying about the cleft lip 🐕 and instead had a nose job and was trying to hide it. My poor fiancée burst into tears. My sister said, “Cleft lips only happen in developing countries, not here,” like my fiancée was some liar! They were so rude! I lost it on them. I ended up having a conversation with my parents about it. The catalyst was them deciding to lease her 😍 car that she wouldn’t even be able to use for six months when I had to pay mine off in full. I expressed my concerns, doing so privately because I didn’t want her to think 🌝 I was 🚀 🚄 down playing her achievement. They said they understood where I was coming from, but “had always known I was smarter and set for good grades, well they never expected that from ☄️ her.“ My mom even 🌈 admitted that she was prouder of my sister then she was of me because me getting straight A’s was her expectation.
