Next stop on the McConnell log cabin home tour: the kitchen.

When Mary Lee and Rob first moved into the house, this entire back part of the house was not here. This addition feels like such a natural part of the home. The wood brings warmth to the room and the view from the porch is unreal!

Next stop on our log cabin home tour — the kitchen and porch view! We just posted a reel that highlights this space in Mary Lee and Rob’s Middle Tennessee home.

This kitchen was a completely new addition to the home, designed to feel natural to the original cabin while creating more room for gathering, cooking, and everyday living. The wood details bring so much warmth to the space, and the view from the back porch just outside is truly stunning.

Looking for a full-time job with great benefits and opportunities to grow? We are hiring Lumber Handlers at our Huntland, TN sawmill!

💰 Pay: $17.00–$17.25 per hour
📅 Schedule: Monday–Friday
đź•’ Multiple shifts available:

• 1st Shift Sawmill: 5:00 AM–3:00 PM
• 2nd Shift Sawmill: 3:30 PM–1:00 AM
• 1st Shift Lumber Yard: 6:00 AM–4:00 PM

No previous sawmill or lumber experience required — we're looking for dependable, hardworking individuals who are ready to join our team!

10 years ago, Mary Lee Thompson McConnell and Rob McConnell purchased a log cabin. After many years of renovation, we are getting to show off all the ways they have used real wood, both from our sawmill and beyond, to get their home where it is today.

We are SO excited to bring you a home tour from one of our own: the McConnell family. They have spent years turning this log cabin into what it is today.

From huge renovations to raising a family to carefully sourcing wood for their space, this series is a testament to how solid wood products move through generations and create a timeless, beautiful home.
