Tennessee Valley Archaeological Research is very pleased to announce that Dr. Danielle Dadiego has been promoted to Director. Danielle previously worked for TVAR from 2012 to 2015. In 2012 Danielle came to TVAR after completing her master’s degree at the University of West Florida (UWF). During her three plus years at TVAR Danielle excelled in every way. In 2016 Danielle was accepted into the anthropological archaeology Ph.D. program at the University of California Santa Cruz (UCSC). Danielle has been the recipient of numerous grants and awards including the Society for American Archaeology Dissertation Award. Following the completion of her Ph.D., Danielle returned to UWF to become Archaeological Lab Director and a Faculty Research Associate. Danielle returned to TVAR in January of 2025.
In addition to being a member of several professional organizations, Danielle has over two decades of experience in all phases of archaeological investigation within academic and cultural resource management settings in the northeast, southeast, and west coast of the United States. She has published articles in American Antiquity and BEADS and is currently working on a book with the University Press of Florida. Her research focus is colonial archaeology and European and Native American exchange in the Southeast, and she also specializes in paleography and archaeometry. As TVAR’s Director, Danielle will oversee the day-to-day operations of TVAR.
