ISO an Alabama Notary Public to notarize your signature? Use Google search to obtain the notary's name. Then verify the notary's credentials to make sure their commission is active.
Visit the Alabama Secretary of State's website: https://www.sos.alabama.gov/government-records/notary-public . Enter: notary's last name, first name; county name is optional; choose statewide & all records.
You'll be provided the start and end date of the notary's commission. Notaries serve for a period of four (4) years and then are required to re-apply in order to renew.
If your document will be used outside of the USA, choose a notary whose commission won't expire in the next twelve months. If your notarized document requires an Authentication or Apostille, depending on the country, you may be asked to attach a Notary Certification to the notarized document. Notary Certifications can be obtained from the Judge of Probate office, in the county where the notary resides.
Some, not all, notaries can assist you with Authentications & Apostilles. You can also search online for an independent Apostille Agency. The Alabama Secretary of State website has a wealth of information about this topic on its website as well.
