Innovator Spotlight: Alex Cantrell
We are proud to recognize Alex Cantrell, TLG’s Helpdesk Manager and Software Integration Specialist, as the creator and patent holder of EZ Meter.
EZ Meter was developed to solve a common industry problem: collecting meter readings from USB-connected printers and copiers. Instead of relying on manual reads, Alex created an automated solution.
His work earned U.S. Patent No. 12,513,051 B1, granted December 30, 2025.
Alex also founded TLG’s helpdesk operation and grew it from a one-person role into a team of six. His background includes software development, PowerShell automation, SQL reporting, Azure functions, network diagnostics, & mobile app development.
